Not an accounting portal. A team workspace
Most accounting practices use dedicated client portals. These tools are built for the accountant's workflow: you submit documents, they process them, you receive a return. Efficient. But transactional.
We made a different choice. Dedicated accounting portals put the client in a waiting room. Microsoft 365 puts both sides inside the same workspace. You are not a recipient of deliverables. You are a participant in the process.
There is also a practical reason our clients appreciate: IT contractors and consultants already use Microsoft 365 professionally. Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive are not new tools to learn. The working environment is familiar from day one.
The software is called Teams for a reason. We built our practice around that idea.
One dedicated workspace per client
At the start of every engagement, we create a Microsoft Teams team exclusively for you. That workspace is the operating environment for the entire relationship: communications, documents, questions, and decisions all live in one place.
Nothing is shared with other clients. Nothing gets lost in a general inbox. The workspace persists for the full duration of the engagement, with complete history accessible at any time.
Three things you get from day one
Approachability
A named channel for every topic. No hunting through email threads to find a question you asked three months ago. Async-first communication means you reach out when it suits you, and responses arrive in context. When a real-time conversation makes more sense, Teams calls and video meetings happen inside the same workspace, with recordings saved automatically.
Traceability
Every document, every message, every call recording and transcript in one place. If CRA ever asks about a decision made during the year, the record exists in the workspace. Nothing depends on anyone's memory or personal inbox.
Security
Microsoft 365 Business provides enterprise-grade encryption, multi-factor authentication, and controlled access. Your financial data does not live in anyone's personal inbox or an unmanaged file sharing service.
What to expect in practice
The workspace is set up at the beginning of the engagement. You will receive a Teams invite within the first week. From that point, the workspace replaces email as the primary channel for everything related to your file.
Document requests come through the shared library. Questions go into the relevant channel. Returns and notices are posted where both sides can see them. Nothing gets lost, and nothing requires a follow-up email asking where something went.

We create your dedicated Teams workspace and configure the channel structure for your file type.
Invite sent
You receive a Teams invite within the first week. We walk you through the workspace and what each channel is for.
Work begins
All document requests, updates, calls, and messaging happen inside the workspace. Email is for introductions only.

The workspace persists for the life of the engagement. Full history, all documents, every exchange is available whenever you need it.
